no offense but felicity smoak probably looked up to her father and then he left her and her mom with nothing and she grew up with a mother who lived off paycheck to paycheck and worked at a bar and came home with dozens of boyfriends and she had to watch her mother’s heart get broken over and over again all while feeling isolated because she didn’t understand her mom and her mom didn’t understand her and she probably didn’t have a lot of friends and refused to love anyone until she met cooper because loving someone meant they were going to leave her and love, to her, probably wasn’t even a real concept anyway

and she spent her entire life working her way out of las vegas even though her and her mom had barely any money and she got out and went to a prestigious school and graduated at a young age and met a guy she let herself feel something for but he killed himself in jail and she was devastated but didn’t let that ruin her and she moved on and moved to a different city and got a job and the rest we’ve all seen 

she literally started from nothing and has ended up with everything and everyone is so sleep on her backstory and pretend like she didn’t have to work hard to get where she is but she literally had been fighting her entire life
